Legal terms and conditions
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ALL THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE ACCEPTING THEM
Participants agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information when registering with this form. If participants provide any information that is fraudulent, untrue, inaccurate, incomplete, or not current, or we have reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is fraudulent, untrue, inaccurate, incomplete, or not current, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the registration and to refuse any and all current and future participations in the challenge.
Teams are limited to a maximum of four members, and none of the participants can be part of more than one team without previous consent from the challenge organizers. All the team participants are considered to have equal contribution on the proposed solution.
Privacy: Note that except for the team's name, the participants’ names, the associated organization(s)/institution(s), and the country/countries, no additional information from this registration form will be publicly disclosed without explicit request. Email addresses (i.e., contact email and additional emails) will be used to contact the team participants and will be automatically subscribed to the challenge mailing list (https://mail.bnn.upc.edu/mailman3/postorius/lists/challenge2023.bnn.upc.edu/) to ensure that all the participants are up to date (e.g., training/test dataset release, opening of final submissions). At the end of the challenge, email addresses will be subscribed to the general mailing list of the challenge (https://mail.bnn.upc.edu/mailman3/postorius/lists/challenges-list.bnn.upc.edu/) in order to announce future editions and other information of interest. Please, note that participants can unsubscribe from these mailing lists at any time.
Intellectual Property: Participants retain any Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) related to the participant’s proposed solutions. Note that during the evaluation process we may require some resources to compute the score (e.g., trained models, datasets, code). Also, at the end of the challenge the organizers will ask for some documents related to the solutions proposed by the top candidates with the sole purpose of verifying that they comply with all the rules of the challenge. See the “Rules” section in our website for more details (https://bnn.upc.edu/challenge/gnnet2023/). Participants can decide to keep their solutions confidential, for this they need to request signing an NDA with the organizers. Participants can request an NDA template prepared by the organizers by sending an email to gnnetchallenge bnn.upc.edu.
Evaluation of proposed solutions: At the end of the challenge, participants of the top selected solutions will be responsible to facilitate the training dataset and all the required information to reproduce the training and verify the final score. In case of any eventual contingency, this includes the case not covered by the the rules of the challenge or with an open interpretation, a committee formed by three members of the organizing team will reserve the right to make the final decisions on whether accepting or rejecting proposed solutions. In case of any potential ambiguity or confusion, participants are encouraged to proactively contact the challenge organizers to validate that their solutions meet all the requirements considered in the challenge.
Modifications to the deadlines may be announced through the challenge website and the challenge mailing list. It is the participants' responsibility to regularly check the website and the mailing list to stay up to date on possible changes to the deadlines.
During the evaluation phase, each team will be allowed to compute the score for a maximum number of submissions per day that will be specified on the challenge website. In case of receiving more submissions, only the first submissions up to this maximum limit will be considered. This also applies to the total number of submissions allowed during the evaluation phase for each team.
By accepting these conditions, you warrant that all your submissions will be the result of your own original work and, as such, you are the sole and exclusive owner and rights holder of the submissions, and you have the right to make the submissions on behalf of all the team participants. You agree not to make any submission that: (i) infringes any third-party proprietary rights, intellectual property rights, industrial property rights, personal or moral rights or any other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, privacy, publicity or confidentiality obligations; or (ii) otherwise violates any applicable local, state, federal, national, or international law.
Participants may use all the resources provided by the challenge organizers (e.g., datasets, code, models) only for non-commercial research and educational purposes. Commercial use is restricted to previous explicit consent from the challenge organizers. Information found on the challenge website may be freely used and copied for educational and other non-commercial purposes, provided that any reproduction of data is accompanied by an acknowledgement to the challenge website (https://bnn.upc.edu/challenge/gnnet2023/) and the organizers (Barcelona Neural Networking center, BNN-UPC).
