Registration

Please, choose a name for the team participating in the challenge. Individual participants can use their own name. Note that this name will be used in the ranking that will be published at the end of the challenge
Please, type the full names of all the team members separated by ";". Note that the maximum number of members per team is limited to 4 (i.e., 1-4 participants are allowed). The names of the participants may also appear in the final ranking.
Please, type an email address that will be used to contact the team participants
You can add additional email addresses of other team members. These email addresses will receive also all the emails sent from the organizers to the team. Please, separate them by ";"
You can optionally add some information about the institution(s)/organization(s) where you work/study
You can optionally add some information about your occupation (e.g., BsC student, MsC student, engineer, senior researcher, professor)
Please, type the country/countries where the participant(s) are living currently. If there is more than one, please separate them by ";"

Legal terms and conditions

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ALL THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE ACCEPTING THEM

Participants agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information when registering with this form. If participants provide any information that is fraudulent, untrue, inaccurate, incomplete, or not current, or we have reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is fraudulent, untrue, inaccurate, incomplete, or not current, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the registration and to refuse any and all current and future participations in the challenge.

Teams are limited to a maximum of four members, and none of the participants can be part of more than one team without previous consent from the challenge organizers. All the team participants are considered to have equal contribution on the proposed solution.

Privacy: Note that except for the team's name, the participants’ names, the associated organization(s)/institution(s), and the country/countries, no additional information from this registration form will be publicly disclosed without explicit request. Email addresses (i.e., contact email and additional emails) will be used to contact the team participants and send them exclusively information related to the challenge. Also, these email addresses will be automatically subscribed to the mailing list of the challenge (https://mail.bnn.upc.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/challenge2021) in order to ensure that all the participants are up to date (training/test dataset release, opening of final submissions, etc). Please, note that participants can unsubscribe from this mailing list whenever they desire.

Intellectual Property: Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) related to the proposed solutions are NOT expected to be transferred to the organizing institution and/or organizing members. Note that during the evaluation process only the output of the model will be required to compute the score. At the end of the challenge, the organizers will only ask for some documents related to the solutions proposed by the top candidates with the sole purpose of verifying that they comply with all the rules of the challenge. See the “Rules” section in our website for more details (https://bnn.upc.edu/challenge/gnnet2021/). Particularly, final submissions of the top candidates must include the code of the neural network solution proposed, the neural network model already trained, and a brief document describing the proposed solution. Information from these files can be used by the organizers to write a public article describing the experience of the challenge and some details of the top proposed solutions. For those who want to keep their solutions confidential, the organizers offer the option of sharing the proposed solutions under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Note that this NDA must be signed before sharing any document or information that should be protected according to the participants' criteria. The organizers reserve the right of signing the NDA just before any piece of code or document related to the solution is required, which will be typically after the evaluation phase of the challenge. Participants can request an NDA template prepared by the organizers by sending an email to gnnetchallenge < at > bnn.upc.edu.

Evaluation of proposed solutions: For the top selected solutions at the end of the challenge, participants will be responsible to facilitate the reproducibility of the solution to check that it complies with all the rules of the challenge. In case of any eventual contingency, including any case not considered in the rules of the challenge or with an open interpretation, a committee formed by three members of the organizing team will reserve the right to make final decisions on whether accepting or refusing proposed solutions. In case of any ambiguity or confusion, participants are encouraged to proactively contact the challenge organizers to check that their solutions meet all the requirements to be considered in the challenge.

Any additional or altered deadlines not already reported in the challenge website will be publicized to the participants via the challenge website and the challenge mailing list. It is the participants’ responsibility to check the website and the mailing list updates regularly to stay informed of any new or updated deadlines.

After the test set is released, every team will be allowed to make up to a maximum number of submissions per day that will be specified on the challenge website. In case of receiving more submissions, only the first submissions up to this maximum number will be considered.

By accepting these conditions, you warrant that all your submissions will be the result of your own original work and, as such, you are the sole and exclusive owner and rights holder of the submissions, and you have the right to make the submissions on behalf of all the team participants. You agree not to make any submission that: (i) infringes any third-party proprietary rights, intellectual property rights, industrial property rights, personal or moral rights or any other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, privacy, publicity or confidentiality obligations; or (ii) otherwise violates any applicable local, state, federal, national, or international law.

In the case of proposing extensions based on the baseline model provided on the challenge website (RouteNet), any public document describing the solution must include a clear citation to the paper where this baseline solution is described (see reference [1] at https://bnn.upc.edu/challenge/gnnet2021/).

Participants shall use the datasets only for non-commercial research and educational purposes. Commercial use is restricted to previous explicit consent from the organizers. Information found on the challenge website may be freely used and copied for educational and other non-commercial purposes, provided that any reproduction of data is accompanied by an acknowledgement to the challenge website (https://bnn.upc.edu/challenge/gnnet2021/) and the organizers (Barcelona Neural Networking center-UPC).

Please, note that it is mandatory to accept all these terms and conditions to participate in the challenge. By clicking on “I understand and accept the legal terms and conditions”, you accept all the terms and conditions on behalf of ALL the team members.

Before accepting, if you have any doubt on these legal terms and conditions, please send an email to gnnetchallenge < at > bnn.upc.edu.

Check the box if you, on behalf of all the team's participants, accept the legal terms and conditions above.
